Exadata Design and Configuration

Exadata Upgrading and Patching

Exadata Performance Tuning
Many applications running on Exadata do not fully leverage the extreme performance features the platform was built to deliver. These features are only available on current Oracle Database releases, so customers frequently need to upgrade to unlock them. The upgrade itself introduces new challenges, including changes to the Optimizer and older execution plans that no longer perform the way they did in the previous release.

We review database statistics, assess sequences for contention, and look at schema objects, stored packages, procedures, and functions as needed. Partitioning strategies are reviewed for performance and scalability, and index usage patterns including auto index, global indexes, and local indexes are evaluated for relevance. We also check invalid objects and the usage of materialized views and query rewrite so your platform runs the way the engineers at Oracle intended it to run.
