SMS Communications Policy

Viscosity Technology, Inc. (“Viscosity,” “we,” “us,” or “our”)

Overview

Viscosity Technology, Inc. uses SMS (text message) communications as part of its internal business operations to support employees, contractors, and partner company representatives in performing their work responsibilities. This policy describes what messages you may receive, how we obtain your consent, how your information is used, and how you can opt out.

This policy applies to all individuals who receive SMS messages from Viscosity Technology in connection with their employment, contractor engagement, or partner relationship, including full-time employees, part-time employees, independent contractors, subcontractors, and representatives of partner companies.

Types of Messages You May Receive

Viscosity Technology sends SMS messages for the following operational purposes:

Sales and Business Development

  • Daily call quota reminders and progress updates
  • Notifications when call activity is below target thresholds
  • Daily activity summaries for management review
  • Sales pipeline updates and task reminders

Contract and Subscription Management

  • Contract expiration alerts and renewal reminders
  • Lease expiration notifications
  • Cloud service and subscription renewal reminders
  • License compliance and deadline notifications

IT Operations and On-Call Alerts

  • Application stability and incident notifications
  • Database issue alerts for on-call resources
  • Infrastructure health warnings and escalation notices
  • Scheduled maintenance reminders

Sample Messages
“Reminder: You have 50 calls remaining to meet your daily quota of 100.”
“Alert: Contract for Oracle Cloud expires in 30 days. Action required.”
“On-call: Database issue detected on PROD-DB-01. Please investigate.”

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your role and current work activity:

  • Sales and Business Development: 1 to 3 messages per business day during active sales periods.
  • Contract and Subscription Management: Messages sent as deadlines approach, typically starting 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration.
  • IT Operations and On-Call: Messages sent only when incidents occur or maintenance is scheduled. Frequency is unpredictable and depends on system events.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Consent

By providing your mobile phone number as part of your employment onboarding, contractor agreement, or partner engagement with Viscosity Technology, Inc., you consent to receive automated SMS messages related to your work responsibilities as described in this policy.

Consent is collected through the following mechanisms:

  • Employees: During the new hire onboarding process, employees provide their mobile phone number and acknowledge receipt of this SMS Communications Policy.
  • Contractors: As part of the contractor agreement or Statement of Work (SOW), contractors provide their mobile phone number and acknowledge consent to receive operational SMS messages.
  • Partner Representatives: During partner onboarding or project kickoff, partner company representatives provide their mobile phone number and acknowledge consent to receive operational SMS messages related to the engagement.

Consent is voluntary. However, opting out of certain operational messages (such as on-call incident alerts) may affect your ability to fulfill your work responsibilities.

How to Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by:

  • Replying STOP: Reply STOP to any message you receive from Viscosity Technology. You will receive a confirmation message and no further texts will be sent.
  • Contacting Us: Email sms-support@viscositytechnology.com or notify your manager or project lead to have your number removed from the messaging system.

After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message: “You have been unsubscribed from Viscosity Technology notifications. No further messages will be sent. Reply HELP for assistance.”

If you opt out and later wish to resume receiving messages, contact your manager or email sms-support@viscositytechnology.com.

How to Get Help

You may request help at any time by:

  • Replying HELP: Reply HELP to any message you receive. You will receive a response with contact information for support.
  • Contacting Us: Email hello@viscositytechnology.com or call (469) 444-1380.

Information We Collect and How It Is Used

In connection with SMS communications, we collect and use the following information:

  • Mobile Phone Number: Used solely for sending operational SMS messages as described in this policy.
  • Message Delivery Status: We receive delivery confirmations and failure notifications from our messaging provider to ensure messages are being received.
  • Opt-Out Preferences: We track your opt-in and opt-out status to respect your communication preferences.

Your mobile phone number is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. It is shared only with our SMS service provider (Twilio, Inc.) for the sole purpose of delivering messages on our behalf. Twilio’s privacy policy is available at https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy.

Data Security

We protect your mobile phone number and messaging data using the same security measures we apply to all employee, contractor, and partner information, including:

  • Access controls limiting who can view and manage phone numbers
  • Secure API connections to our messaging service provider
  • Regular review of access permissions and security practices

Data Retention

We retain your mobile phone number and messaging preferences for the duration of your employment, contractor engagement, or partner relationship with Viscosity Technology. Upon termination of the relationship, your number will be removed from our messaging system within 30 days unless retention is required for legal or compliance purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this SMS Communications Policy from time to time. We will notify affected individuals of material changes via SMS or email. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
